If you’re wondering where to begin…
Choosing the right counsellor is an important decision and I’m so pleased you’ve found your way here.
If you’ve found yourself here today, life may feel difficult right now. Perhaps you’ve been carrying things on your own for a while. You may be wondering whether counselling is right for you, whether anyone will really understand how you’re feeling or even where you would begin.
Almost everyone I meet tells me they felt nervous before their first session. That’s completely natural. Interestingly, almost as many tell me afterwards:
“I don’t know why I was so nervous.”
You don’t have to know what to say. You don’t have to have everything figured out and you don’t have to tell me your whole story in our first session.
We simply begin with a conversation.
You don’t have

How can I help?
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may know exactly what you’re struggling with or simply know that something doesn’t feel right. Choose an area below to find out more.
I also offer specialist support for menopause, teenagers and young people, trauma and EMDR, separation and co-parenting.
Meet Donna
I’ve been a counsellor and psychotherapist for over 30 years and one thing that experience has taught me is, that no two people are the same.
My approach is warm, down-to-earth and personal. Before thinking about techniques or strategies, I want to understand you, what you’re experiencing and what has brought you to counselling.
I draw on extensive training and experience across a range of therapeutic approaches, which means our work can be shaped around you rather than expecting you to fit a particular type of therapy.
Above all, I believe that feeling comfortable with your counsellor matters. When you feel genuinely heard, understood and able to be yourself, meaningful change can begin.
Counselling shaped around you
People come to counselling at different stages of life and for very different reasons. I work with adults, couples, young people and families, adapting the way we work to the individual rather than expecting everyone to fit the same approach.
